Compatible replacement plate for high-capacity mining pressure filters

The DOFIL FFP2512 rubber membrane filter plate is an engineered aftermarket replacement component for FFP2512-type automatic membrane filter presses. It is used in demanding dewatering applications involving mine tailings, mineral concentrates, industrial minerals and other abrasive or high-solids slurries.

The objective is not simply to replace a worn plate. A correct replacement should help restore chamber sealing, pressure transfer, cake formation and stable filter operation. For this reason, DOFIL confirms the plate structure from drawings, used samples, equipment information, old plate photos or measured dimensions before production.

Real FFP2512 product photos

For FFP2512 replacement filter plates, real photos help buyers confirm the rubber membrane face, feed-port position, sealing surface, plate body, lifting points, packing condition and workshop handling before they trust a replacement route.

What is an FFP2512 rubber membrane filter plate?

An FFP2512 rubber membrane filter plate is a pressure filtration component used inside an FFP2512-type membrane filter press. During the filtration cycle, slurry enters the closed filter chambers and liquid passes through the filter cloth. After the initial filtration stage, compressed air or another pressing medium applies pressure behind the rubber membrane.

The membrane expands toward the filter cake to remove additional liquid. This helps the filter achieve lower residual cake moisture, more uniform cake thickness, shorter or more stable filtration cycles, improved cake discharge and better recovery of process water.

Main product features

  • Drawing-based dimensional matching: sealing surfaces, feed ports, mounting points and plate thickness are reviewed before production.
  • Application-specific rubber compound: EPDM, NBR, natural rubber or custom compounds can be considered according to slurry chemistry and cycle duty.
  • Stable pressure transfer: correct geometry helps the membrane expand evenly and maintain consistent cake squeezing.
  • Reinforced sealing performance: the sealing face is matched to reduce slurry leakage, pressure loss and filtrate contamination.
  • Flexible replacement scope: DOFIL can review rubber membrane only, complete membrane plate, chamber plate, filter cloth and related spare parts.

Typical applications

The FFP2512 rubber membrane filter plate is mainly used in large-capacity mining and industrial pressure filtration systems where cake moisture, cycle stability and replacement compatibility matter.

Iron ore concentrateUsed to reduce moisture before storage, transportation, pelletizing or downstream processing.
Iron ore tailingsSupports high-volume tailings dewatering, process-water recovery and dry-stack tailings preparation.
Copper concentrateUsed where cake moisture, filtrate recovery and continuous production are important.
Gold tailingsSuitable for residue filtration where chamber sealing and repeated membrane pressing are required.
Industrial mineralsApplicable to silica, kaolin, calcium carbonate, phosphate and similar mineral slurries.

Why membrane material selection matters

Selecting a membrane only by equipment model can create unnecessary risk. The same FFP2512 filter may run very different slurry chemistry, temperatures, abrasive particles and cycle frequencies at different plants. Before recommending a rubber compound, DOFIL reviews the process data below.

Process condition Why it matters
Slurry materialDetermines abrasion and chemical exposure.
Particle-size distributionAffects abrasion, filter cloth selection and cake permeability.
Slurry pH and temperatureHelps determine chemical compatibility and rubber elasticity.
Oil or hydrocarbon contentMay require an oil-resistant rubber direction such as NBR.
Feeding and membrane pressureDetermines chamber loading, sealing stress and membrane fatigue.
Cycles per dayInfluences fatigue-life requirements and replacement planning.

Signs that the FFP2512 membrane or filter plate needs replacement

A membrane should be inspected when the site sees rubber cracking, blistering, abnormal swelling, permanent deformation, loss of elasticity, membrane leakage, slurry leakage between plates, irregular filter cakes, increasing cake moisture or reduced squeezing performance.

High cake moisture does not always come from the membrane alone. Filter cloth condition, feed pressure, slurry concentration, particle-size distribution, valve condition and filtration cycle settings should also be checked before placing a replacement order.

Replacement plate verification process

  1. Collect the equipment model, plate number, drawing, photos or used sample.
  2. Review slurry material, pH, temperature, filtration pressure, pressing pressure and operating frequency.
  3. Confirm plate type, overall dimensions, sealing surfaces, feed arrangement and membrane connection.
  4. Select the plate body direction and rubber compound according to process data and machine configuration.
  5. Prepare a production drawing or dimensional confirmation document when required.
  6. Manufacture, inspect and pack the component for international transport.

Replacement scope and spare parts

For maintenance projects, the useful scope may include more than the main plate. DOFIL can evaluate the supply of rubber membranes, complete membrane filter plates, chamber filter plates, head or end components, filter cloth, feed-related components and customized filter press spare parts.

Information required for an accurate quotation

To avoid compatibility problems, send as much information as possible: filter press manufacturer and model, equipment serial number, existing plate part number, drawing, front and back photos, plate dimensions, plate thickness, membrane thickness, feed-hole position, required quantity, slurry material, pH, temperature, feed pressure, pressing pressure and photos of the failure area.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an original FFP2512 OEM filter plate?

No. This is an independently manufactured aftermarket replacement component supplied by DOFIL. Compatibility is established through drawing review, sample measurement and technical confirmation.

Can DOFIL supply only the rubber membrane?

Yes. Depending on the plate design and maintenance requirement, DOFIL can evaluate the supply of rubber membrane only, a complete membrane plate or a larger plate-pack component package.

Can a replacement membrane reduce cake moisture?

A correctly matched membrane can help restore pressure transfer and squeezing performance. Final cake moisture also depends on slurry concentration, particle size, filter cloth, feed pressure, cycle settings and equipment condition.
